ElectraNet’s hill to hill transmission line project involved building a large transmission line from Port Augusta to Roxby Downs in South Australia providing Prominent Hill mine with direct access to the main electricity grid. The project involved 1128 structures spanning over 270kms.
Meridian's generation assets are located in a picturesque area of New Zealand, attracting both the local public and tourists. This increased foot traffic near their hydro assets necessitated a heightened focus on public safety after concerns were raised during external safety audits.
In 2019, APA commissioned an upgrade to the pipeline, for which we provided bulk supplies and large maintenance projects, including danger high voltage gas signs, marker posts, and non-reflective signage.

Our cable hanger system is a perfect example of an innovation developed to solve a critical solar farm cable management issue, now transforming efficiency across major projects.
Three years ago, PCL approached us while working on the Stubbo Solar Farm, searching for a more effective way to manage string cables for their bifacial solar panels.
At the time, most EPCs were securing cables to the torque tube with cable ties, but this method had major drawbacks:
PCL needed a safer, more efficient, and visually appealing alternative.
The development of our cable hanger system took 18 months, with over five design variations tested alongside PCL. Each version shared a common attachment point, the panel bracket connecting panels to the torque tube but differed in:
A key breakthrough came when the construction manager joined the project.
His installation insights helped us refine the design to align with real-world workflows, ensuring it was not just functional but optimised for speed and practicality.
This cable hanger was engineered for maximum efficiency in solar farm installations.
These innovations made the hanger one of the most efficient and scalable cable management solutions available.
To ensure the hanger met practical installation needs, we conducted rigorous on-site testing with PCL.
Key refinements included:
The impact of our cable hanger was fully realised on the Culcairn Solar Farm, where installation efficiency exceeded all expectations.
Original Plan: 3–4 weeks of labor for the first batch of 82,000 units.
Actual Result: Installed in just 4 days—an 80% reduction in labor time.
Total Project Scope: 820,000 units installed, saving 20–30 weeks of expected labor.
This case study proves the potential of our hanger system in large-scale solar projects.

The solar industry is evolving, and so are our solutions. No single product can remain one-size-fits-all forever, so we continue to refine our designs based on EPC preferences and new industry standards.
Future developments may include:
Variants tailored for different racking systems.
Our cable hanger isn’t just a product, t’s a proven innovation that’s reshaping how solar farms approach cable management.
By reducing costs, improving safety, and maximising efficiency, we’re helping the industry move forward.
