ElectraNet’s hill to hill transmission line project involved building a large transmission line from Port Augusta to Roxby Downs in South Australia providing Prominent Hill mine with direct access to the main electricity grid. The project involved 1128 structures spanning over 270kms.
Meridian's generation assets are located in a picturesque area of New Zealand, attracting both the local public and tourists. This increased foot traffic near their hydro assets necessitated a heightened focus on public safety after concerns were raised during external safety audits.
In 2019, APA commissioned an upgrade to the pipeline, for which we provided bulk supplies and large maintenance projects, including danger high voltage gas signs, marker posts, and non-reflective signage.

Traditional reflective signage fails when it’s needed most during daylight hours. OMNI changes that. Powered by patented lenticular technology, OMNI delivers unmissable, all-angle visibility without relying on light. Designed for low to high-voltage networks, it’s already improving safety and reducing asset strikes across Australia and New Zealand.
When it comes to safety signage for electrical infrastructure, visibility isn’t optional - it’s essential. Yet traditional reflective signage has long had a limitation: it only works when there’s light to reflect.
During daylight hours or in visually cluttered environments, critical warnings can go unnoticed - especially on low-lying or unlit assets.
That’s the problem OMNI was designed to solve.
Developed by Identimark in response to a series of real-world incidents involving farmers colliding with power poles, OMNI signage uses lenticular lens technology to deliver directional movement that grabs attention, without relying on light sources.
Instead of reflecting, it shifts, creating a visual effect that appears to move as the viewer changes position.
OMNI uses lenticular lenses to direct light toward each eye, creating an illusion of movement and depth.
The concept originated when Identimark’s Daniel Beatson was reading a children’s book with his nieces and nephews. The imagery moved as the page shifted - and so did the idea: could this be applied to signage?
The answer was yes - but not without extensive development.
Identimark's R&D team, led by Daniel and Rob, conducted a thorough research and testing program across Australasia.
Multiple lens densities, orientations, and resin types were evaluated for their ability to deliver multi-angle visibility, durability, and installation flexibility on a range of substrates.
Attachment options were field-tested with clients, and feedback from power utilities played a key role in final design iterations.
One major Australian energy provider performed 18 months of accelerated testing, simulating years of outdoor exposure.
The results?
Minimal fading. No warping. Lens integrity retained. What began as an indoor concept had proven its ability to withstand harsh UV and weather extremes.
OMNI signage and labelling can be implemented across low and high-voltage assets, including:

OMNI is currently available in 2-phase and 3-phase variants, with colour, text, and branding customisation available to match operational requirements.

Uptake and Industry Response
Following a strategic rollout across Australia and New Zealand, OMNI quickly gained traction.
Following a targeted strategic rollout, Identimark reached out to key clients we knew would benefit from OMNI’s unique visibility advantages. This approach secured 14 high-value meetings across Australia and New Zealand. Despite only recently taking the product to market, OMNI has already been adopted by two major power providers - a strong early signal of market demand.
Enquiries have since been made for multiple applications, particularly in environments where daytime visibility and unmissable visual cues are critical. Providers are also exploring OMNI for use in rail, water, and telecommunications infrastructure.
Field deployment of OMNI lenticular signage on a low-voltage pillar box. The red-and-white stripe pattern provides maximum visibility from multiple angles, reducing the risk of accidental impact in residential and high-traffic zones.
Visibility Without Light – Lenticular movement draws attention in all conditions
Directionally Engineered – Optimised for side-on, driver-level, and walk-up viewing angles
Highly Durable – 7+ years of UV and weather resistance
Customisable – Phase-specific designs, colour variations, and compliant red/white striping
Quick to Install – Mechanical or adhesive mounting options available
Reflective-lenticular hybrid designs are in development, pushing the technology even further into high-compliance, high-performance environments.
With no existing standard for lenticular safety signage, Identimark is working alongside industry partners to define best practice and lead adoption across the sector.
“We didn’t just build a product - we engineered a new way to make assets visible,” says Daniel, New Business Manager at Identimark. “And we’re only just getting started.”
