What is the difference between Warning and Danger and when should you use them?

To ensure your signage is compliant with the AS1319 standard it’s important to know the difference between the term DANGER and the term WARNING and when they should be used.

Here is a simple guide according to the AS1319 standard:

When to use the DANGER sign:

If the situation is likely to be life threatening if the message is ignored, the DANGER symbol is to be used.

When to use the WARNING sign:

If the situation is likely to be hazardous but not likely to be life-threatening if the message is ignored, Warning sign is to be used. The term Caution has now been replaced by warning.
