Why pictograms?

30 January 2018

Identimark often recommends pictograms for signage in areas where hazards need to be clearly understood by all visitors no matter what language they speak. This is a real issue considering much of New Zealand’s energy generation is located near areas of great natural beauty and tourism hot spots.

In case you’re wondering, there are an estimated 6909 living languages in the world. And around 37 different languages are spoken by New Zealand residents alone.
