Look out for these new signs

Faced with a life-threatening clash between native birds and cars, New Zealand Transport Agency has officially approved a new traffic sign to warn drivers of the low-flying kererū in areas through the Waitākere Ranges, Auckland.

While not endangered, kererū numbers previously dropped significantly due to habitat loss, competition and predators.
